How do you control nats?

All of a sudden, I am being pestered by nats. I do not have a lot of them just enough that is annoying.I have heard of putting vinegar into a glass jar and poking holes in the top of the lid. Has anyone used this method of keeping naats under control in their home? What are other methods of controlling nats? I need a fly swatter lol
