Jesse Borek reports the news on Friday the Houston Astros have promoted from their AAA minor league team the Fresno Grizzlies third baseman Colin Moran. Moran had been on the Astros roster from May 18 through May 30 before he was demoted back to the Rough Riders during the current Major League Baseball season. Moran will serve as the backup third baseman to Yulieski Gurriel who will replace Alex Bregman who suffered a hamstring injury this past Wednesday. Bregman is not expected to get any playing this weekend when the Seattle Mariners will be hosting the Houston Astros in a three game series at Safeco Field in Seattle Washington staring on Friday. The Astros are currently four games out of the second slot in the American League Wild Card entry with a record of 76 wins and 70 losses.

There must be two minor league teams in Fresno. My cousin is a statistician for the Fresno Grizzlies.

My error. I have corrected the team nickname to the Fresno Grizzlies. The Astros do have a minor league team called the Frisco RoughRiders which is their AA baseball team,
