It seems at times our society puts more emphasis into Quantity and less into Quality. Then in other areas where quantity is needed they tend to rip people off over charging.
Now, Last October I brought a Skyroam mobile internet device. I really loved it, it worked well Unlimited data. but it was 8-10$ for an all day pass. I brought it to help me stay online when my main net was down. I went to update it last night, and it froze.. I am still waiting to find a solution for this.
But, as I search for other mobile internet devices.. I think it is really ridiculous that many want to charge 10-40$ for a single GB... It makes it harder for those of us who live in the middle of no where and are dependent on the internet for any small means of earnings they can get as well as social life.. To actually be able to stay connected to the rest of the world.
I was thinking about how many services like to over charge and mark things way higher than 20% in commission... and unless it cost more than that offer the actual service.. I think it is really ridiculous.
I often wonder if I am the only one left when I search for an electronic or device or machine or item, that wants my item to last so long it might outlive me some day to possible be enjoyed by another person or outlive my use of it to hand over to someone else to use and enjoy. I understand this is not always possible with electronics, but they should be built to last as long as possible... and maybe all of them should be illegible for a recycling upgrade type program, that will not out cost buying a new item...
Maybe someday the customers will once again demand they do not want to have only affordable items.. But they want good quality lasting items, that will function right, and if they do not expect to have real human being ran customer services.. and not press 1 we don't care press 3.. no we do not care type mentality... I am all for using machines, and artificial intelligence etc.. But.. not to the point of totally replacing the human being.
And until human beings can produce GOOD QUALITY, long lasting efficiently effective good working machines.. We should not be wasting our resources on it.
You want to run a world on WI-FI internet then make internet good quality affordable to all ends of the earth. You want more sales, then produce the best quality that you know how in your products. Be proud to make something that can out tast and remain productive... We seem to have lost that kind of working, manufacturing, and production pride..
Just my thoughts for the day.
