Andy McCullough reports the news on Sunday the Los Angeles Dodgers will active from the 60 day disabled list left handed starting pitcher Alex Wood. Wood will be with his teammates on Monday when the Dodgers who are currently in contention to make another playoff appearance in 2016 will be facing their National League West Division rivals the San Francisco Giants at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles California. Wood has been placed on the 15 day disabled list on May 31 with an injury to his left elbow. Wood was placed on the 60 day disabled list on June 29, 2016 since his elbow injury had not healed properly. Wood had surgery on his left elbow in July which kept him on the shelf before he pitched in a simulated game for the Dodgers recently in Arizona. The Dodgers plan to use Wood as a relief pitcher for the remainder of the 2016 Major League Baseball season.

Wood is sparingly being used out of the pen.
