The make money advertisments

There are plenty of advertisements offering us jobs ,completing surveys,typing by the hour,work from home,try this that and the other,lose weight,gain weight.We bump into them all the time. I guess that's how they make their money. Could you tell me if you have checked out and signed up for any of these advertisements and do they pay for the jobs advertised. An online survey offered bucks for signing up,which I did,but sad to say......Boo,hoo,hoo!!
