Though I have to say that I am not crazy about being disabled. It does have it's benefits. Like great health insurance.
The one I have in Florida, I can get $25 a month in over-the-counter products. You have to order them, and it can take two weeks or more to get them, but it does help with the budget.
I have gotten ice bags, Q-Tips, aloe soaps, lotions, thermometers, fish oils, band-aids, etc.
There are numerous items you can order from their list. Today I placed an order for some: Ibuprofen, facial tissues, hand sanitizer, vitamin A, and folic acid.
I am allowed $25 in free products every month. Most of the time, I will use the full amount. However, depending upon the price, every now and then, what I need does not come to the full $25, so I have a couple of $$$ I never use for that month. If they had this benefit when I had Texas insurance, I was not aware of it.
There are pro's and con's to having insurance in both states. The major pro in Texas was...I could pick whatever doctor I wanted to see without prior approval. Here in Florida...I can not see anyone, unless I get a referral, and/or approval from the insurance company. So the wait can be a pain sometimes.
And the plus for both states...is that there is never a deductible. So I will never have another medical bill, for as long as I live. Kind of nice, to say the least.

You certainly deserve that. It should be that way in every state.
