How many years does it take to get a black belt in karate?

If I start training karate today, and I am motivated to train regularly (say, 4 times per week), how many years will it take to reach the black belt?

from what i have learned from my father in law who has been doing karate for years, it all depends on you and how much time you devote to it. It will take a few years though

i think if you are dedicated and you really want to reach your goal you will have it in no time..just believe in yourself.. :)
