Minnesota Twins manager Paul Molitor said on Tuesday the sad news that his outfielder Eddie Rosario will not be playing outfield for the team for the rest of the current baseball season due to a broken thumb that will take six weeks for him to fully recover from his injury. Since the Twins are in contention to make the playoff this year, it is the right decision to let Rosario miss playing time for the rest of the 2016 Major League Baseball season. The silver cloud in the dark lining is that Rosario will not be needing any surgery to repair the damage to his broken thumb. Rosario played in 92 games for the Twins in the 2016 Major League Baseball season with a batting average of .269. At least Rosario will be able to return to Spring Training in 2017 so he can resume his baseball career with the Twins which began in 2015.

Minnesota was a non-contender anyway.
