Diabetes is a condition in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. This is due to lack of insulin or maybe because the insulin that is available is not working effectively. According to World Health Organization, there are 246 million people in the world living with diabetes. It is the number one cause of kidney failure and it is also responsible for 5% or 5 million blindness in adults and one million limb amputations. Every year 3.2 million people in the world die from diabetes or related causes. It causes 6 deaths every minute. This is the cause of my husband's death. He lost his eyesight because of too high blood sugar. Diabetes is truly a scary disease.

I am sorry for your loss.. But if detected early exercise and strict diet with medication could prevent all those complications.
