Anthony DiComo reports the news on Wednesday New York Mets manager Terry Francona has announced the news that left handed starting pitcher Steven Matz will make his next start on Friday when at Citi Field in New York City when the Philadelphia Philles come to town. The catch is that Matz who has been on the shelf with an injury from a mild strain to his left shoulder that placed on the 15 day disabled list since since August 22 which is retroactive to August 14, 2016. The Mets are only going to let Matz throw no more than 50 pitches on Friday since the 25 year old left handed pitcher has a bright future ahead of him and the Mets do not want to jeopardize his promising career by keeping him on the mound longer than he needs to be after his recovery from a shoulder strain.
