Do you prefer to listen to music when you are working on something?

When I am working or concentrating on something like working on a document, I like that I listen to music. I can't seem to concentrate more when it is too quiet. But when I am reading, I prefer also light music with no lyrics like classical music. Most of the time, it is pop songs that I listen to when I work.
How about you do prefer the environment to be quiet or listen to music when you are working on something?

At the office , i always listen to music while i work . It feels so lonely in the room when i am alone , since my boss seldom have her office at the office but at the other affiliate's ., so music gives me company . I like listening to those DJs on FM , telling stories and jokes .

For me though, when it comes to sleeping, I prefer quietness but when working on something, I prefer music

We are different as I prefer to listen with some music on although there are times when I do want utter peace and quite but that rarely happens for me.

In some complicated work as well, I get to enjoy music. I agree music is indeed necessary for life. I cannot live without music.

When Mylotting, I am ok with songs with lyrics but at work, I have to listen to instrumental music.

Most of the time I work with headphones on and volumes up. Listening to music help me to get more focused on what I am doing. I also feel more productive while listening to music than just working with silence.

yea.. i like to listen to my favorite songs when i actually prepare for exams... it will help me staying awake... and the funny part is ... when i write my exams.. i will remember the answers along with the song I heard when i learnt that specific answer... interesting isn't it

I really love music any time of the day. I don't have to be working on something to be listening. There was a time in my life when I'd wake up , and go to bed listening to music. I'd enjoy a good song more then actually watching TV. I don't like quiet myself either.
