Donald Just Wanted to "Get On With the Campaign"

He wasn't in the least bit sincere when he made his 30 second statement that President Obama was born in the US, he finally admitted as much. How insulting to the American people and to our First Family! I don't care how many times anyone tries to push the blame onto Hillary Clinton or her 2008 campaign. That's pure BS, total garbage. There's never been any evidence or allegations that Hillary personally made any "birther" comments. Donald, on the other hand, wasn't running against Obama, he had no campaign staffers who could go rogue and make some kind of ignorant, off-handed remark during a close race. HE was the one who ran his big mouth for over 5 years after he now claims he "ended" the controversy. He owes us all a huge apology and then he should just go away.

I would take just going away. To bad there are so many in this country that have that mindset. Trump has made it OK to hate again and that to me has been Trumps biggest win even if he does not win the presidency.

He's crazy. A liar extraordinaire. You know he'll never apologize and go away.

You're so right and he's proven his craziness and what a liar he is several hundred times since I originally posted this discussion. I'm dying to see how he reacts after he loses, which he WILL lose.

The most important thing about the birther issue is that no one cares. It isn't going to sway one vote in this election. Not one. Hillary's campaign started the birther rumor, it doesn't matter that she didn't say it, it was part of the opposition research. Then staffers sent out a mass email. So, it began with her campaign in 2008 and that cannot be denied. But the point is - nobody cares. IT won't win or lose a vote for either of them.

No, Hillary's campaign didn't start it, not that that's relevant at all. What's deplorable is that Donald kept up the lie for 5 years AFTER the President presented his birth certificate. You may be right that this issue alone won't cost Donald any votes but it's sure not true that "nobody cares", far from it. It's just that this is just one of literally hundreds of reasons people have to not want that piece of excrement anywhere near the White House.
