I've spent most of life as a technophobe, unlike my younger brother, so the first gadgets I had access to (if we're not counting things like calculators) were games of his in the early 80s. He had little machines that played Asteroids and Space Invaders that I was quite addicted to, mainly because they were very simple to use.

@likun123 definitely its video games and I recollect all my memories of contra, mario, spartan,tetries , road runner and goonies with variety of cassettes. Nowadays, kids would have mobile phones as their first electronic gadget
