So my husband decided that he wanted to re-watch the TV miniseries about Chaka (or Shaka), the famous Zulu warrior. Guess he wanted to make me depressed … again!
Watched this series when it first aired on television in the 80s. It upset me then. It upsets me even now!
Have you even seen this series or read or seen anything about the Zulu Empire? It's sad, it's frightening, it's horrific … it's what happens to anybody … if the foundation of their entire life is built on hatred and revenge.
It has nothing to do with the color of a man's skin. It's what is inside his heart.
There is controversy around the brutality of his methods but he improved warfare. Here are 16 things that made Shaka Zulu a military genius.

Did you not want to visit the link shared with this post? In a nutshell, he changed the method of warfare in Africa, was ruthless and had a lust for blood that could not be satisfied, and in the end, his people decided to get rid of him. So they killed him.

@CoolPeace - That's not how it was depicted in the TV series. Seems his mother taught him the principles of hatred and revenge. When he grew up he carried them out. The only thing the father did was not be a father because his son was not the “rightful heir” to the throne. Lots of civilizations do that. There are illegitimate kids (not born by the wife) and then there are legitimate heirs to the throne. One can only speculate that life may have turned out differently had his biological father acted like a real father to him. But if the televised story is a true account, his mother didn't do him any favors raising him the way she did! Hatred is a powerful emotion that can eat out your heart and soul. It destroys.

@cmoneyspinner. I think his behaviors came from his father who he didn't get along with.

Just finished reading Juan Pablo Escobar's book about his father. It gave me the same feeling. Pablo Escobar was violent genius who made horrible decisions throughout his life. If he had not been a psycho criminal, he could have been a Fortune 500 CEO.
