During my childhood years, I was being nibbled by my classmates. It wasn’t to the extent of being bullied. I fought back and anticipate that they will accept me sooner or later. Then, it happened. Our family status was not well-off. Though my parents provided the best thing in the world, which is, education. My siblings and I had all our best to overcome the trials as we enter university.
Life is not easy during that time. Some of my father’s side family nibbled us. They had perceived that my siblings and I cannot make it in college. With the help of parents’ perseverance, we were able to graduate from university.
Due to these past experiences, my family and I never give up. We usually join force to face the challenges. It was inculcated in my mind that whatever trials come in our life. There is no excuse but to never give up.

yes, most parents here still believe that the best thing they can do for their children is to make sure they finish their education, even if they cannot leave them with any material assets behind.

It's unfortunate that some have to express their doubts in you, or anyone else. It looks to me you proved them wrong, and personally I'd love to see the look on their faces when you had. Giving up seems an easy thing to do, but in the end, what cost does it achieve? Guilt? Shame? Proving the doubting person right? Sometimes all you need to do is believe in yourself and prove the others wrong. You've done that. I hope others will be like you.

That were all hindrance that you cross over and we all have to face such experiences in every point of life. And some are bitter and some sweeter, the thing is that those who could stand firmly only could be an able to come up as a good example and the remained go lost in the crowd of the world.

One should have determination and the willpower to make the things easy.
