Getting a Head Start on Those Winter Blues

Everyone at home is talking about how much I'm going to hate it out here the minute the snow begins to fly and I can't get outside to "play" in my garden. Well, they do have something there, so I'm just going to make myself a list of winter things to do. A friend spent the entire winter learning Russian and she enjoyed every minute of it. I was originally going to make up a list, but I am wondering if choosing one thing from the list and spending the entire winter on it, would be a better idea. Maybe devoting all of winter on my French would be a good idea. At the moment, I'm listening to French radio and I am developing an ear for it... that was an area that I really wasn't good at. I can read much better than I can listen or translate. Maybe devoting an entire winter would be the perfect answer. What plans do you have once winter arrives??

We don't have rough winters like that. It's very rare for us to get "snowed in." So that time of year I pretty much just do what I always do. Work on my paint by numbers, play my guitar, and of course watch movies & TV, do puzzles, work & play on computer. I do hope you can beat winter blues.

Maybe having a long list of things to do is the answer. I'm going to add all of your ideas to my list... except play the guitar. I think that I would have to take it outside lol. Have never played in my life!!

To hibernate..lol...oh I wish. I think improving your French would be a great idea. I can read it too but only speak very little of it. I do understand quite a bit. My grand daughter started French Immersion this year. She is in grade 3. Her mom, my daughter, is fully bilingual.

I don't make plans for winter i just go with the flow. But I do alot of reading and coloring in my adult coloring books during the winter. I'm also on a bowling league so that's something to look forward too sunday evenings.

Practicing your French might be fun during the winter. I would practice my Italian as I already speak French, my native language.
