Scott Polacek reports the news Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper will have an MRI exam on his left thumb on Monday to determine the severity of his latest injury.
Harper injured his left thumb during the Nationals 10-7 over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
The hope coming from the Nationals camp is that Harper will not miss any significant time on the sidelines since he is one of their most valuable players on their roster if the Nationals are going to go deep into the postseason in 2016.
The Nationals are placing Harper on the day to day list until the results of his medical exam on Monday are complete.
Chris Heisey will replace Harper as the Nationals right fielder for the time being until Harper is able to return to the starting lineup.

I hope he stays injured because the Dodgers will face the Nats in the NLDS.
