Had a really nice long chat with Mom this morning. I finally remembered to ask her about the 5x7 photo that I have on my desk. It's a black and white of her and dad before they were married. She was 17, he was 27.She didn't even remember the photo and I have no idea who gave it to me! I asked her if the age difference was any problem and she said none that she could think of. I went on to ask her where they were standing... it was in front of an ice cream shop. I'm sure that she probably had a maple walnut cone. I'm not sure what dad's favorite flavor was. I will have to ask her when I talk to her tomorrow!! I love adding stories to the family tree!

It is great to ask questions because now that my mom and dad are both gone there are so many questions I wished I had asked them when I had a chance.

I don't know why we don't develop an interest in the family when we are in our teens rather than we get a "wee bit older" lol!

@Hate2Iron That is so true. In our teens we just take them for granted and figure they will always be there. We are too busy worry about our own lives. Sad! :(

That is a sweet memory... My parents were 11 years apart and they didn't seem to have any problems with the age difference either...

I like doing my family tree too. It can be fascinating and like doing a jigsaw.
