It's Beginning to Look a Little Bit Like Autumn

Since the cats are finally getting along, I decided to resume my lunch-time walks starting today. As it turns out, it was actually pretty cold and windy out there. The good news is it kept the mosquitoes away. The bad news is there wasn't much in terms of signs of life because most of the critters hid away in an effort to stay warm.
I did, however, manage to get a photo of some of the leaf pile that is beginning to form.

Warm here in VA, but at least it is not 95 or something awful. I would say it is on the cool side for this time of the year, but it will not last..

@srhelmer and Just think it is not yet October. I really don't think I could tolerate Wisconsin, too much ice and snow.

@snowy22315 To tell you the truth, we really don't get as much ice and snow as people think we do (at least in the southern part of the state, the northern part is something completely different). We have our share of cold/snowy days. But, most winter days are actually relatively mild. That being said, right now 50 degrees seems a bit cold. Come March, that will be shorts/t-shirt weather.
