We are currently watching the end of the movie Flight with Denzel Washington. It is about a pilot who landed a plane after the landing gear malfunctioned and a series of other technical issues.
He saved the majority of the crew and passengers. It is based on a true story which I am about look up what exactly happened.

Last night I saw a movie in which the air hostess saved the passengers when the airbus was hijacked by terrorists. She was killed by the terrorists. The movie is based on a true story.
