Favorite Cartoons #9 - Yogi Bear

#9 in my Favorite Cartoons series is a classic: Yogi Bear. Yogi Bear was a Hannah Barbera cartoon. Yogi (according to Wikipedia) made his first appearance in 1958 on the Huckleberry Hound Show. He proved to be more popular than Huckleberry, and was given his own show in 1961. Yogi Bear spends most of his time hanging out with his sidekick Boo-Boo, and stealing picnic baskets. Yogi is perpetually at odds with Ranger Smith. Yogi's catchphrase is still quoted today: "I'm smarter than your average bear." Speculation is that Yogi is based on Art Carney's Ed Norton character on The Honeymooners TV show. Yogi has been voiced by several actors over time. Yogi Bear is a classic cartoon that still draws laughs to this day. At least I still laugh whenever I get the chance to watch.

Yogi Bear is definitely a favorite. We camp at Jellystone Park every summer just to spend time with Yogi.

Has he stolen your picnic basket yet? It's only a matter of time.

Network cartoons these days suck. You have to watch Cartoon Network to get something good.

I know. Except for Cartoon Network, no one makes silly cartoons anymore. Kids these days don't know what they missed.

I grew up with Yogi and Boo Boo. I thought the name was borrowed from Yogi Berra.

I wouldn't even know where to watch it now. I don't think it's on Cartoon Network in the daytime.

Cartoon Network has some good ones. Other than that, they don't make them like that anymore.
