A little feminist rant

It bothers me so incredibly much how women are overly sexualized in our lives today. If you look around you whenever you're out and about, try to pay attention to how many times you see a half naked woman or almost completely naked woman used in advertising. You'll notice that it's almost literally everywhere. Are we really living in a time where we have to use women's bodies as a means of selling a product or promoting a business? It's honestly sickening. And what makes it worse is how the only women used in that advertising have a very specific body type, usually very thin with a big butt and/or big boobs, and even those photos are still usually photoshopped. Not only does this create an unrealistic expectation of what a woman's body "should look like," it creates prejudice against anyone who doesn't have that body type and leads to women doing crazy and dangerous things in order to look that way. Moral of the story is that women are much much much more than just a body; women are full human beings with feelings, dreams, intelligence, and so much more. Also, all body types are beautiful in their own way, and women should never feel that they're not good enough based on a picture posted on social media. Ladies, love yourselves and remember that you're all beautiful and are no lower or higher than men!

Wow that's crazy, I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I'm a size 16 right now and if I ever had someone outwardly tell me I couldn't get the position due to my weight, they would've never heard the last of me. This just goes to show how ridiculous people are when it comes to weight, but we as women just have to stick together and show them what true beauty is and show them who's boss!!

I agree with you.....I don't have anything to say as you have said it all....just this I want to break those noses of peoples who think women are lower than men. I think they forget that they came to this world due to a woman only.

I love myself, love my imperfection, love being a woman and I don't like men who think that I put on makeup to impress them.

I know right! It is become so common now that it is just becoming annoying. I can't believe there are still people who can't see this. It seems so obvious ...yet some people go around saying that we are over hyping the topic. I feel like punching these people right in the throat. But i love your post. I am totally on-board with the message.
