In the 90's, it seemed as though all the acid jazz bands were from England. It may have seemed that way, but it's far from the truth. Both France and Japan had great acid jazz scenes, as well. United Future Organization is one of the top Japanese acid jazz acts. They are #7 in my Favorite Acid Jazz Bands series. United Future Organization formed in 1999 and are still going strong. Made up of Japanese Tadashi Yabe and Toshio Matsuura (no longer with the group,) and Frenchman Raphael Sebbag. They have released several albums and appear on multiple acid jazz compilations. From their self-titled album came "Poetry and All that Jazz," a jazzy tune on which the group sampled Jack Kerouac reading his beat poetry over the music. It's brilliant, as far as I'm concerned. I've linked the song below. Enjoy!

I don't think it's political. I haven't heard anything political from them.

I don't mean this disrespectfully, but this reminded me when I first started listening to it (especially the talking) of those Was (Not Was) songs that David Was talked/sang lead on.

Huh. I never listened to it that way. I'll have to go back and listen to Was (Not Was) again.

@teamfreak16 -- it's just the "free flow" I guess you might call it, that brought it to mind. It's definitely not as "silly" as W(NW) stuff. Here's them doing "Earth to Doris."
