Trump Versus Clinton: Estate Tax

If you have an estate, i.e. you are wealthy, this “proposed tax” (amendment or addition) is very important to you! If not, you could care less. Just sharing the link because this is one instance where you can see a really clear divide between Trump promises and Clinton proposals. If you are an undecided voter, this might help you decide. Also … it might also lend credence to the “political myth” that the Republicans are a party for the rich and the Democrats are the party for everybody else! While the Republicans may publicly pretend that they don't want to back “The Donald”, privately they just might be saying … (Psst. If you can do this.) ... “Don't worry bro! We got your back!” Hey! Don't jump on me if you don't like my humor. Comedians get on TV shows and do stand up comedy routines about American politics all the time! They do it for the money. I'm exercising my freedom of speech and may make a few pennies. That's alright! Cause my freedom is my wealth!
Both presidential candidates have proposed changes to the estate tax regime. Coming as a surprise to nobody, the proposals are quite different.

My humor is the result of watching way too many episodes of Saturday Night Live and The Daily Show.

@arthurchappell - Was wondering why your name had such a familiar ring to it. Signed in to my Wizzley account today. Haven't really been active for a while. Saw your name. I went: “That's it! I knew I knew this guy!!” Why do you have 2 myLot accounts? Or is there someone else here with the same name??

Your humor is fine with me. One thing about hiking the tax on the wealthy is that they also give loads of money to many of the charitable foundations which the majority of us cannot afford to do. If that plan goes into effect those with loved ones with certain illnesses may not get the expected help any longer or not as much of it. I'm nowhere close to being wealthy, yet I don't support slamming the higher taxes on the richest. Btw, this comment brought to you by Arthur since I followed him here.

Many wealthy are very generous and were it not for their charity, many would suffer. Many wealthy say they donate to charities but their alleged acts of charity are questionable and/or not verifiable. If it were a decision for me to make personally? It's not my money. I don't care. But this is not a personal decision to be made. It's a political decision that has to made on behalf of ALL of the citizens. If the country you live in has a system of taxation for the purpose of paying for government programs to benefit ALL of the citizens, then please obey the law and pay your taxes. To the people who write the tax laws, please write fair taxation laws, rules and regulations. If you can't write the laws so that they are equitable and fair, then get away from the desk, and let the people who know what they're doing write the laws! To those who hold political office, from the nation's leader on down. - Don't make promises that can't be kept because you know they will be result in so much opposition and backlash that you won't be able to follow through. - Don't suggest proposals that are impractical solutions that can't be implemented because you can't get anybody to agree, thus making it impossible for you to follow through.

@cmoneyspinner You are correct in that I'm sure there are many with money that really don't support the charities they seem to champion, but in our little town, those with the money do give in various ways to help out the community.
