losing a child

There are words like orphan, widow and widower in all languages. But there is no word in any language to describe a parent who loses a child. How does one describe the pain of ultimate bereavement. Terrorism is never a solution. Number of souls that die is much more than the number of casualties in any terrorist attack.. I really fail to imagine how the parents cope up with this loss

I've never realised that there is no single word to describe a bereaved parent. As you say, losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to anyone.

Yeah it is very hard to cope up but what can they do rather than accept and gradually times make them learn to cope up.

It rips a hole in your heart that never mends. No matter how long it has been, it is fresh pain every day.

@amitkokiladitya Well said. I can't imagine what it's like losing a child. It's very sad no matter what the reason.
