Have a day

It's been an emotional week for me. I haven't had enough me time since dad quit his job and he's here all the time; and my work flow basically stopped so I haven't had much to do. How does one socialize as an adult? It's so hard. I never know when people are interested in continuing the relationship or not. You can do all the work in the world, but if the other party doesn't put in effort then it'll fall flat eventually. (Yeah, I know, everyone recommends getting involved in volunteering and things..... I'm not talking about that. You can be involved every day. I'm talking about how to spot when a relationship with someone will actually last. I don't know how to do that yet.) Anyone else have a problem with this? Or, actually, I know I'm not the only one. So does anyone have good ways to overcome this? I think it's partially a mindset issue. Help!

There's no formula to socialising, it should come naturally. It won't if you stay home all day. I don't understand your title 'Have a Day'?
