Jumping Jacks.. good alternative to cardio

Although it is accepted as a game for the little kids when they gather together and have some fun, did you know that jumping jacks are a very good aerobic exercise to help you burn fat.
The good thing about this exercise is, that you can do it at any place that has enough room to spread your legs and hands wide. I am sure 99% of the people are able to do this exercise at home.
I have read somewhere that 100 fast jumping jacks with high intensity will burn 100 calories, which is a good alternative to the "boring cardio"
and yeah we always choose the easier ways instead of running walking cycling..
Now seriously, what do you think about this exercise? Accompanied with a good diet I am sure that you will get rid of that extra fat.. What about you? Are jumping jacks only waste of time, Although I know that they are not, but still I want to hear your opinion about this one.

Looks like too much energy for me...plus I am not sure...I am afraid with my extra weight 'Jumping Mikes' could knock stuff off of the shelves.

Jumping Mikes lol... Yeah but admit it, it is still better and less boring than moving from your bed and going for a walk, run, cycle or stuff.

@supervalon I'm so far out of shape these days I can't run more than about 50 feet if even that. Unless you consider 'round' a shape
