It is a nice peaceful Sunday for us here in our home. We have been to church already this morning. I've put on a pot roast with it's various veggies and it is happily bubbling on the stove. It smells delicious.
In a little while the hubby will be watching the Sprint Cup NASCAR race. He will be glued to the television from beginning to end.
Do I resent it? Absolutely not. I enjoy the alone time I get while he is helping his favorite driver or drivers get to the finish line. He yells at them, encourages them and just plain enjoy the race.
What will you be doing on this beautiful Sunday?

I will attend to my grandson“s birthday party. I can understand you. When there was a soccer world cup, my husband would be glued to it. I discovered that one of my best friend“s husbands did the same. So I invited them. They were watching and once in a while we obliged giving them something to eat or drink. And we went elsewhere where we could talk while we knitted.

@marguicha that is a great solution. I really don't mind being alone during this time - I get so much done.

Very similar. My husband preached at two churches this morning (I sang at one of them), then we ate at a friend's church for Homecoming. (For anyone who's not familiar with that, it's when a church has a week of nightly preaching services and concludes with a covered dish dinner.)
Susan, I'm sure you know about those dinners. Right now we're in front of the TV watching the NASCAR race, we'll, my husband is and I'm writing in myLot. A nap is not long in coming.

I do know about covered dish dinners. I love them, there is so much good food, good company and good conversation found at a church Homecoming. I write also while my husband is busy sitting in his chair helping the NASCAR drivers get to the finish line.
