Hello hello. How is everyone today? So keeping on with the list to the third out of 10 bands now!
The band is Treble Charger. They formed in 1992, in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, and are currently together, though have not been active since the end of August of 2014. Their sound, it is certainly that of the pop punk style, though according to their Wikipedia site, before 1997, they started off with a "melodic indie rock style" groove. Also, an interesting fact about Treble Charger, they originally were named "NC-17" after the movie rating, but there was an American band that bared the same name, that threatened to sue, so they changed the name to Treble Charger (which if you ask me sounds cooler anyways). Now, I will link a music video, below. Enjoy!
I just want to note, however, that they do have better songs.. But this is one from the 90's, if you would like to also check out a song of theirs called "Hundred Million" that is actually from the 2000's, then feel free to do so. Thanks!
This is NOT rated NC-17. This is the original 'nc17' version, which is the name of the album. The song got remade for their 'Maybe It's Me' album, which also...

Sounds like Neil Young a bit at the start then kind of gets into its own thing.

Another good band with a good sound. Let me ask: are these bands "underground" in Canada, or do they have a larger following...just not outside of Canada (the way The Tragically Hip or Rush do)?

Glad you like it! :) I would say none of them are underground, no. You hit the nail on the head there, essentially they have decent followings, just not outside of Canada. And, as you can imagine, the bands that get closer and closer to number one are slightly more popular than the one(s) before, typically, atleast that is how I see it!
Also, I would have to argue with you slightly with the examples given for The Tragically Hip and Rush not garnishing fame outside of Canada. Rush, first off, certainly is world famous, that is undisputed I would say. The Tragically Hip, that is a little different, they are very famous in Canada, but they also are known in some parts of the US, especially in the northern states and around the border and all that. They did play Woodstock '99 too :)

Red sounds more influenced by 90s grunge.
