Austin can be a small town sometimes

I wrote about the mother of a friend of mine, Mary Pearl Williams in this discussion:
There I mentioned that she was a lawyer and later became a judge.
One day Maggiepie and I were asked to come be a character witnesses for a lady in a child support case.
So, we went down to the court house and waited, and waited, and waited.
Now, this lady's attorney was talking to us when this crowd of people came up.
"That's Judge Williams, I need to try and have a word" he said and joined the mob.
Maggie and I stood back a ways.
"Don't you know her?" she asked me.
"Yeah, but I don't want to get into that," I replied.
Then there was a little parting in the crowd and she saw me.
"Elic!*" she said, and waved at me. *not my real name...
I waved back.
The attorney turned and gave me a really nasty look.
When she and her crowd moved on, I noticed he didn't come back and rejoin us.
What can I say? I can't help who I know, can I?

@ElicBxn Way larger now than Portland, Oregon, which is now too big for my tastes. I'm yearning for a smaller town. BTW, have you tried the BBQ at Black's BBQ in Lockhart? Yum.
