When someone dies

When a family member dies, is it ok to NOT go to the funeral service? My grandmother died a few days before Thanksgiving, and I did not go to the service. I chose not to because my entire life growing up I didn't know her. She had made no effort to have anything to do with me. Was I wrong for NOT attending?

No, you weren't wrong in "not" attending. If there was no ties between the two of you, don't feel guilty. You can feel the loss for which ever parent's mother this was. Make sure your mother or father know you love them and understand why you don't feel you have to go. No matter what, I am sorry for your loss.
