Darin Gantt reports the news on Wednesday the Arizona Cardinals (1-3) will start their second string quarterback Drew Stanton on Thursday evening when the San Francisco 49ers will be hosting their National Football Conference West Division rival at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara California.
Carson Palmer who is the starting quarterback of the Cardinals who suffered a concussion injury during the Cardinals loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday has not been cleared to resume his football activities on Wednesday by a doctor from the National Football League.
Stanton will be backed up by Zac Dysert who was promoted from the practice team this week when Palmer suffered his latest injury.
In my opinion Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians made the right decision to sit out Palmer this week since it would be very hard for a football player who suffered a concussion injury to recover within a period of five days.
The Cardinals have 12 games left on their regular season football schedule to get back into playoff contention. The health of Palmer will be needed if they are going to make a playoff run this year.

From playing in the NFC Championship Game versus the Carolina Panthers to a slow start in 2016. How the mighty have fallen.
