As I'm sure many of y'all are aware,(and if not now you know) that we have two women running for president: Hillary Clinton and Jill Stein. Now you'd think this would be made into a bigger deal given all this talk about female empowerment, feminism, glass ceilings and what-not. And yet all the focus is on Hillary, though it's not hard to see why given that she's the bigger name of the two. But this ain't pop culture entertainment, we're talking about a momentous history making occasion in presidential candidates in America! This isn't quite as bad as when Republican representative Herman Cain ran against Obama in 2012. Back then with the way that was handled and demonlished on Herman Cain's end with sexual harrassment allegations popping up out of nowhere, I got this suspicion like I was being told:"Oh no way in Hell we're having two [insert racist explative here] running for president."
And it seems to lesser extent we're getting that here:"No way in Hell are we letting people know that two women are running for presdent." It feels to me like out political system is heavily selective on what is and isn't "progressive." Almost like they're trying to maintain control over the masses and direct them in who to vote for. Hence the feeling akin to pop culture media instead of the gravitas, that I feel an election to a nation with the satus of America should have. I mean what the Hell are they so afraid of? Who's to say people won't choose Hillary if given the choice between her and Jill? I mean doing a little research on both candidates and their objectives won't kill the American people or the political system. Or am I just being naive and allowing the American people the choice between Republican, Democrat, or third parties as well as allowing several other individual freedoms within legal means actually doom us all?

Alas, your voice will not be heard. I only just found out we had another woman running for president a couple days ago. So much for my being up on the times. Though I've been trying my best to stay out of this political arena - circus arena - that is.

@just4him I was staying out of it too before I had hard drive issues. The topics I mostly focused on were videogames, Japanses comics and cartoons, American comics and cartoons. And hopefully later on this month, I can get back to that. Because what's going on in this "circus arena" as you put it is baffeling to me. I mean why control this much of what goes on in our country's political system? What are the old codgers running this country so scared of in allowing people to make their own choices?
I mean from where I sit even if they give Geoffrey Johnson and Jill Stein more coverage that won't change Trump and Hillary's momentum, and us undecided indie voters who aren't satisfied with those dunderheads will have other options. Why would the government and the media deny the people those options? I mean are they seriously afraid of not having control over the outcome?

@Hanyouyomi Probably. It's Gary Johnson. Heck they are probably afraid their own shadows won't vote for them.
I would be too if I were them. Their shadows probably know better.
Okay, I'm being silly, but you can't be tragically morose over the political arena right now. It would cause a person to go into permanent depression.

@just4him Right, "Gary Johnson," Dunno why I kept calling him "Geoffery." Also whadda ya mean by "they are afraid their shadows won't vote for them?" Also how would being tragically morose over the political arena cause someone to get depressed? Actually nevermind because it's obvious a lot of people are far more invested in this than you or I...

I think most Americans think Hillary is the better evil than Trump.

@antonbunot I think you mean "Lesser evil," to which I ask:"How?" She exchanged confidential information on a private server and got a mere slap on the wrist from the FBI. Then there's that stuff involving Benghazi and I hope those claims about insisting her husband's rape victims to keep quiet ain't true. Becuse the only thing she has over Trump aside from getting pardons for being a white chick is that she's a better speaker than him, but she's no leader. Anyone who can only lead the ignorant and uneducted should not be in charge of leading a nation. But Hell to people like me this is meant to be. So I'm content with watching things play out, though I don't know why I want to continue torturing myself after this last presidential debate that was like mud slinging.

@Hanyouyomi LOL . . So, which of the 2 you think should be the next president? Johnson and the other lady are hopeless. So either Trump or Clinton will succeed Obama. I go for Trump.

I am sad that Jill is now allowed to join the debates because of the 2 party system. I didnt like who won as President here but at least they allowed 5 people to compete the debates and they were from different parties. Also a guy won Independent on the Senate before landslide so I am sure someday an Indepedent candidate can win.

@Hanyouyomi We do have some sort of diversity. We have the mixed Malay type of people who are basically the majority. We have the Spanish descent people who has been here for centuries. We have the Multigeneration Filipino Chinese and the Recently immigrated Chinese. We have an Indian community and there are arabs in the Muslim regions.
Many of our regions speaks language not spoken Nationwide.
We also have Aborigines like the Aeta who experiencing discrimination because they were pygmies.
We also have the Half Europeans who basically dominate the entertainment industry and we have a recently growing Korean community.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Sounds like there's less political manipulation in the Philippines. But given what you've taught me, and what I've learned from one other philippinos here there's hardly a need for it. Especially since there's hardly any heavily pronounced diversity there. If you're familiar with the anime youtuber AkiDearest anime fans like you, her, and another philippino acquantiance of mine from Facebook, my skype acquaintance and few of the Metalheads on here are a minority. So there's hardly any reason to hide facts when you don't have a prounced diversity like America.
In America the only appeal there is belongs to the 1% privileged sort who if the liberal media would have you believe are generally white. Which to me is hilarious that the "Liberal Media" who's supposed to be the fair and open minded would target such a small market given America's large ethnic diversity. You think they'd let it be known of the third party candidates instead of focusing on the two big party candidates. ut no, the liberal media's just as bad as the right wing, and that bugs me.
Still though, the fact that the philippines allow up to five candidates is sad when America being more diverse ethnically and religiously could easily do the same but doesn't.
