Sean Wagner-McGough reports the news on Thursday Carolina Panthers starting quarterback Cam Newton who suffered a concussion injury during the Panthers 48-33 to the Atlanta Falcons was not able to be at a practice session with his teammates on Thursday.
Newton was injured the second half of the Falcons game when linebacker Deion Jones hit him on the helmet on a legal hit as Newton did not run across the goal line at full speed.
If Newton has not been cleared to lead the team on Monday Night Football versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Charlotte North Carolina, Derek Anderson who is the second string quarterback of the Panthers will be their starting quarterback.
The Panthers (1-3) need to win their next football game to have a chance to make a playoff run this year since they are two games behind the Falcons (3-1) for the National Football Conference South Division lead in the 2016 football season.

Super Bowl loss hangover I guess, Or the other teams have a desire to beat them this year due to their swagger they showed last year is coming back to haunt them.
