I am doing, and @FourWalls is doing, a series of "Girl" songs. How many "Girl" songs are there? We have yet to match. My Favorite "Girl" Songs countdown is at #6, belonging to: "Some Girls are Bigger than Others" by The Smiths. Led by guitarist Johnny Marr and vocalist Morrissey, The Smiths formed in 1982 in Manchester, England. During a short five-year career, each of the band's four proper albums, according to Wikipedia, made the Top 5 in the UK. They are widely cited as the most influential guitar band of the 80's, a combination of Marr's often jangly guitar style and Morrissey's humorous (hilarious, actually) lyrics. "Some Girls are Bigger than Others" is the final track on the band's 1986 Gold album The Queen is Dead. It was not released as a single (except in Germany, for some reason.) In fact, per Wikipedia, the song was only played live once. Johnny Marr reportedly prefers the music to the lyrics, which are classic Morrissey. Enjoy!

I forgot about that one. Same as "Pretty Girls Make Graves."

I don't know why, but I was never keen on The Smiths. Miss this one altogether

I did not know this song. It's got the classic Smiths/Morrissey sound and I am surprised that it did not receive alternative radio airplay.

That was such a great album that there were other songs that got airplay/video play. I have no idea why this was only released in Germany.
