Do you keep a diary or journal?

Keeping diaries and journals are a way of a person can keep up with their life's upbringing. Some people keep a diary or journal for themselves and some share their life secrets with the world, whatever might be the circumstances more and more people are using them. I personally kept a diary to write about each day and how i felt about the everyday activities that were happening in my life. I remember when i was in primary school i wrote about a teacher i didn't like as she looked at me with evil eyes and she had her favourite students and i obviously wasn't one of them. Don't ask me why, i didn't do anything to her and always did what i was told and did my homework. Anyway things such as these i liked to keep in my diary. As i grew older i started to care less about writing things down. There are a lot of reasons for me not keeping things in my diary. I believe the main one is time. Writing things takes time, which i didn't have when i started high school. I was playing after school sports, plus i had homework and didn't have time to write in my diary. I decided that i had missed to many days writing in my diary that i had to give it up and stop writing everyday things in it. Overall i believe keeping diaries and journals are a great way to look back at your lives upbringings and memories. It's a great way to remember what you did on certain days and what sort of life you had in the past and how your life has changed in the present. Do you have or had diaries or journals? Do you keep them a secret and don't want anyone to read them? Have the things you wrote in your diary or journal caused trouble between you and someone else?

I used to, when I was young. Now I write everywhere. I usually write in paper what I want to keep. I don“t trust computers.

@IlijaMarkovski When I was a child, I mainly wrote about my friends and guys I liked. When I grew up, I started to write seriously and I now write stories in my native tongue.

i do have. i started in high school with a simple notebook then a upgraded to a cute one (with stickers, cartoons and such on it). i used to write on it almost everyday then i slowed down when i got into college. but i make sure to write something on it, a long one, just to look back at least once a year. last year, when i was stuck in a hospital, i downloaded a diary app where i can insert pictures.

@MGjhaud It's harder when you get older, because there is more responsibilities and time is the essence. But it's good that you still find the time to write something. Do you still write in the cute one or use the app mostly?

@MGjhaud As long as the app is reliable and doesn't break down then all good.

I used to keep a diary. However, I don't do it anymore. The diary was handwritten in Russian characters

@Shavkat as long as you don't reveal too much secrets lol. What are the main things you talk about? Is it just certain things or everything that happens throughout the day?

I've kept a journal for about 35 years. Most of it is, like you said, just daily activities, but some is important events. I have such a terrible memory, that it serves as a reminder of past emotions and events. I hope my children and grandchildren will like to have my journals one day when I'm gone.

@1creekgirl You don't want your grandchildren reading something that's not meant for them.

@1creekgirl That's a good thought, for your children and grand children to have a look at your life written on paper. Hopefully everything written is rated G.

I've never done it myself. Like you, I just never felt like I had the time. We did buy our daughter a small diary that had only enough space on each day for a single word to sum up the day. Even then she didn't always find the time to do that!!!

@WorDazza It definitely is a good way to write about your life's adventures, but time is the essence without it you can't write it.
