Well, Zoe has crossed to the Rainbow Bridge. "Its not fair," the roomie said. I agree, but losing a beloved pet is part of having them. Their little lives are so short compared to ours. Even a horse generally only gets 30 years, twice that of Zoe's, but still less than the 60 or more most of us people get these days. Its sad, but it was time. I'm just glad that most of our other critters are doing pretty well. This has been a hard 18 months losing 2 cats in June of 2015, 2 more in April of this year and now Zoe. Still, she's not in pain any more, so we can't help but hope there really is a Rainbow Bridge where she'll be waiting.

hi Elkic I think there really is a r ainbow bridge. Im not surprised as you had described Aoe as being in painand having trouble with its l egs so it was her time. ;I know it really hurts but at least shes not hurting any nore. I imagine her now romping at the rainbow bridge.

She came to us with a leg that had been broken and healed crooked, then her hips were seizing up with arthritis. Considering that she started off with the disadvantage of eating garbage and having broken a leg, she lived a good long time.

I know what you mean... I had a friend who had a pair of sisters who lived to 21. She pointed out that at least with kids, they end up moving out.

Yes, she was a good dog, but like all good dogs, they eventually die.

Sorry to hear about Zoe. Today I collected Big Cat's ashes. After losing Little Cat to kidney failure in July, I thought he'd be here for while longer, but he had a tumour. I am replacing various cat things as I expect a new house guest to arrive shortly, which will be good as it is very quiet.

I so hear that, we lost Solo and Ping a month apart 4 years ago, Rio and Taillight just days apart in April, Taillight also had cancer. Ronnie and Minnie with in 2 weeks of each other last June. It has been hard knowing that the pet population here is aging along with us, but oh so much faster...
