Today has been a full day today, which is why you haven't seen me until now. After swimming this morning, and the pool was nice and warm for a change, I went to City Hall to register to vote, to find we could vote absentee. I also found out I didn't have all the documents needed for the change of address, so had to go back. Swimming knocked me out for a couple hours - nap that is, and then pulled up the necessary documents and went back to city hall and took care of everything including casting my vote. Now that that's done, I don't need to listen to anymore rhetoric about who's good or not good for this country and I won't get any more phone calls. Yes, I live in a dream world. I also went shopping after casting my vote and got some things I need to hang my pictures - nails specifically for picture hanging. So I can get that taken care of now. I also got a few more things, but I was bummed by the lack of fall items available at Wal-Mart. Lots of Halloween and next to that, Christmas. I found an endcap with a pumpkin, paper plates and napkins with a fall design on them. So that's it for my decorating for the moment unless I find something else to help. I did see a lot in the Christmas section I really liked, but that will be for another day. And then when I got home - I fell. Yup, my clumsy foot caught on the area carpet and I went sailing across the room to land heavily on my left knee, shoulder and side. I might be using my cane for a couple days. We'll see. I feel a bit banged up at the moment. So now it's time to get interacting with all of you and hopefully I'll finish off October 6 tonight before I go to bed. What has your day been like? Thanks for reading.

I am slowly settling into my new space. My room is nice sized, and has room for the queen sized bed (which is a bit much for me seeing as I only share it with a dog now), my desk for the pc, two dressers and a bookshelf my housemate made for me. She was rattling around in a big old house alone, and we get along well, always have

@just4him Im doing better than I ever thought I would. Even my therapist was surprised how far along Ive made it mentally. I still need to do more work finding a support group, or a therapist here who works on a sliding scale, as I have trust issues and things I want to work on for any future friends or relationships

That's good. I'm glad you were able to get settled so easily after everything that happened.

Dream world indeed! I can bet you now that even after the elections and after the President has been finally chosen, the media circus will continue. Whose choice wins will boast about it and the opposite will curse and complain. Then whoever gets chosen will have his/ her each step scrutinized every single moment. "I told you so's" would be rampant. I predict lots of posts on myLot about that too.

No doubt you are right. After all since President Obama was elected it's been a media circus with him as well. I like my dream world.

We have a minimal amount of area rugs because my husband could trip on them with his prosthetic foot. I have enough problems tripping on my own feet when they get stuck on the floor. I tend to shuffle rather than pick my feet up to walk. I've been doing that for a long time already. When I trip it's when I don't have the cane nearby to balance myself properly. It's hard to know when to keep it handy and when to get some exercise without it. We did a window job for someone that works at a realty company and has rentals. Couldn't do as good of a job as we'd like because many of the windows wouldn't come out, so we couldn't do all the sides. After that job we did a bit of weeding until we could go do another small job later in the day. My one employee was helping with the weeds, and the other one was mowing the lawn. Before he was done, a customer that we'd planned on doing today called and asked where we were. I'd called her yesterday or the day before to see if she wanted to reschedule since it was supposed to rain later today. She never got the message and had her windows all opened up, so me and the one employee that did my lawn went right over there. That took just over an hour. I napped for a bit on the couch and then made a grilled cheese for supper. Then I went with my sister for a monthly demential support meeting where my mom is now living. Now I'm here for a bit. Will you be able to manage with your leg without seeing any doctor about it? If it hurts longer than it should you should get an x-ray to make sure nothing got broken in the fall.

You've been busy. My knee is starting to heal. I spent a couple hours in the pool today and I'm not using the cane again. It still hurts a bit, but not much. I just checked and the swelling is gone, so that's good. It means the pain will be history soon as well.

I am so sorry that you fell. Nothing too serious I hope. Soak in some Epsom Salts and exercise the sore joints so that they don't stiffen up.

I don't have Epsom salts, however, I have kept moving and been in the pool. My knee is feeling much better and the swelling is gone.
