Michael Rothstein reports the news on Tuesday the Detroit Lions have signed free agent running back Justin Forsett. Forsett was released by the Baltimore Ravens one week ago after he lost his running back position to Terrance West. Forsett worked out of the Lions on Tuesday before he was hired to replace linebacker Steve Longa on the 53 man roster of the team. Due to injuries to Lions running backs Ameer Abdullah and Dwayne Washington, the Lions decided to go with the 30 year old Forsett to be part of their team on Tuesday.

Sounds like a good pick up for Detroit.

He may be past his prime at 30 but he will be useful with the Lions.
