Talked to my landlord

So I just talked to my landlord a little bit ago and explained what had happened with the whole downstairs neighbors calling the cops on us and he pretty much told me he won't evict us but until we get into our house my husband need to just keep his cool for now. Then with the mouse issue since we have been catching a bunch more, he said that it's not good for as many as I caught in the passed 2 days but to continue catching them and keep track of how many and if it don't go away in the next few days he will have to figure something out. We both don't want to get the health department involved because they probably would condemn the building. At least I feel relieved after talking to my landlord.

Maybe your husband could use earphones or buds or whatever until you move. It is best not to get the government involved because it will end badly for everyone.

@carebear29 Wouldn't it be worth it until you move? I understand his feelings but you don't want the cops to keep coming or you to get kicked out.

Glad to hear that you got a chance to discuss things with your landlord. I am sure that makes you feel much better. Now I hope the neighbours will stop calling the cops.

Right. Just hope they don't ever call again. Then I am in trouble.

Well I hope the landlord is at least paying for the traps. If you have caught more than a couple in as many days you have an infestation and an exterminator should be called at the landlords expense. I would tell him that, and if he gives you any issues I would tell him your taking it up with the health department. Rodents carry some major diseases, and putting you and your family's health at risk, well, it shouldn't be an option. Good luck!

He don't pay for them but whatever. I did tell him if he didn't do anything about it soon, then the health dept would be involved

@carebear29 You could get some Deacon. The mice eat it and die. That will be quicker than traps. They love to eat the stuff.

I hope your husband will keep his cool and not do anything stupid. We all know how men can get.

It usually pays to keep the lines of communications open and the landlord sounds a reasonable type
