Are you tired of Mars yet?

So a couple of weeks ago SpaceX's Elon Musk gave a presentation about how he plans to build big rockets to send people to Mars. Then I think last week, the head of United Launch Alliance (SpaceX's rival) said that their rockets would be the ones landing people on Mars. And then the other day NASA - feeling left out, I guess - said that they would be sending people to Mars. Don't get me wrong, I fully support the scientific exploration of Mars, I just feel there are a dozen other things (like returning to the moon, setting up asteroid mining, etc.) that we could and should be doing instead of this blind focus on Mars. But everyone apparently has Mars fever.
