Being happy is the best medication for reducing stress or depression. A study indicates that the mere act of smiling, giggling, or laughing can help us deal with stressful situations more easily. Now, between these 3 ways to perform happiness : 'Smile, Giggle, Laugh', which one is better among the three, or which one is the most effective way to reduce stress? Is it laughing the most effective one?

@dramagirl26 But let the laughter be drawn out of a genuine source and not a made up laughter. Because Laughter not connected to the heart increases stress!

@Jenning Ok, the laughter itself must come from the happiness.

Yes, you're right. Both smiling and laughing are the best ways for dealing with stress.

I sometimes do a little smile to keep myself from getting frustrated to the point of having a chest pain. Sometimes I just watch comedy shows in youtube.

See what the Bible says about it; ' Proverbs 17:22 ΒΆ A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.'

Laughing...definitely laughing. Because when we laugh...our mind is thinking of nothing else but the funny thing. When we smile or giggle..it is controlled and our mind is busy thinking other things too.

Yes, I agree with you, Manisha. When we are laughing because of funny things, we forget about our burden, problems or sadness. Do you like laughing, Manisha?

Is it? Does it mean that laughing can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and heart attack? And even stroke?

I say laughing is the best way to reduce stress. Even though if you keep smiling at times you won't have that feeling of stress at all :)

Any one of these could work, but at times, smile looks the best option ahead.
