What I got for my 6th Birthday 43 yrs ago today

Today my sister turns 43 and on my 6th birthday she was born. 
When I came home from school and found out that I had a new baby sister born
on my birthday I was so excited. I remember taking a Polaroid picture to school
that week for show and tell. When I was 10, I wasn't excited about sharing my
birthday anymore. 
My mother always tried to make each of feel
special that day, she always baked 2 cakes and we got to each invite our friends to
a party. Now that I'm older I love sharing my birthday with my sister. Before I
moved we would get together with our families and have a small get together. I
miss that since I moved away. Happy Birthday to my sister who turns 43 today!

I don't know if we appreciated it when we were young or even understood it, but as adults looking back we certainly do now.

I can't think of a special birthday gift, not that I haven't gotten many birthday gifts over the years but I forget who even got me things, things are just things. My 60th birthday was the best, my daughter insisted I have a party of I agreed to a girls-only get-together at a girly restaurant with my daughter, daughter in laws, closest friends and granddaughters, it was wonderful. I think it is very cool that you guys share a birthday, how special is that ?

What a lovely 60th birthday get together with all the women. Hope you were able to grab a photo with all the generations of women together.

It's great you get to share your birthday with your sister, though it wasn't always that way. My best gift was my bicycle on my 10th birthday.
