I'll admit it, I've walled into trees, people, statues and shrubbery whilst texting. That can be bad enough but when it comes to crossing the street or dealing with drivers that may also be driving or waiting for the light to change. I can't wait for the day that it comcomes a straight crime to text while driving; as it stands now you can only be pulled over and ticketed if you are committing another crime. This is something that needed addressed years ago in regards to people driving and texting. To most it might not seem like a big deal but when you fall down a flight of concrete steps or walk into a wooden telephone, please trust me on this, it is.
Recently the City of Pittsburgh has hired people to don the death outfit and wander around downtown Pittsburgh, Granted, there isn't a smooth sidewalk anywhere in the cit but that's no excuse to not at least to patch up what was destroyed by salt and calcium chloride in the winter. If it helps curb the number of accidents happry tening when texting and walking then bravo but I think its going to take something more than that to convince people to pay attention to their surroundings

People need to re-learn how to live in the moment and enjoy it. Enjoy your drive, your shopping trip, taking your child to the park, all without intrusions from your phone. How important are those texts, anyway? Will they make a huge difference in your life? Are they worth taking another life while you reply? Are they worth your child knowing that a phone is more important to you than he/she is?
We have lost sight of what is important in life, and it's not phones and texting. It's sad that a whole generation of children are going to grow up ignored and maladjusted because of their parents' inflated sense of their own self importance. Pathetic.

I think it is sad what this world has come to that people are so glued to their phones to pay attention to what is around or in front of them.
