More Useless Information

My collection of “useless information” would astound some people, I’m sure. I have collected if for many years. The problem with sharing it on myLot is that I don’t always know the source of the information and therefore cannot give credit. When I wrote these things down in my notebooks, years ago, I never even thought that I would have to know the source of the information for a site like myLot. These sites didn’t exist back then.
These “bits” of information could have come from encyclopedias, which I used to READ all the time, or it could have come from a newspaper or magazine or a quiz show on TV or any number of other places. So, I give credit to all these sources and hope that you can just enjoy the FUN of knowing these things without considering where I got the information.
Here’s one bit of useless information that I enjoyed knowing.
Giraffes have no vocal chords and therefore evidently, cannot make any sounds. I’ve actually petted the heads of giraffes in a zoo from the top of a tall platform. I don’t recall that any of them made any audible sounds.
Giraffes also have the same number of vertebrae as humans do.
Do you think it’s true that they cannot make any sounds at all?

Since you have gathered information from many sources over the years, as most of us have, I see no reason to give credit to sources. You are simply imparting what you know. After all, if I state that 2 + 2 = 4 then I would be unable to recall the actual source from which I learned this.

@IreneVincent As long as you are not plagiarising then just ignore such comments.

@Asylum Some people on here seem to be looking for things to report, it seems. I don't plagiarize, but I DO love to share trivia and information that I think is interesting.

@Bluedoll They are not predators, but they are hunted by lions. Seems a shame to me.

Every response is appreciated. Giraffes can munch from the tallest trees.

Oh so that's how they communicate? I didn't know that. I'll have to check that out.
