The Piano That Played By Itself

It was strange so very strange that when I was a teenager I already had my sixth sense and sensing the world beyond came by certain signs or strange happenings. Sometimes I had to consider what something meant when it happened so suddenly. Well any time my mom went out and stayed out late I hated to be alone in the apartment at night. That was odd because inside the apartment I was alone but right next door on the other side of the wall there were neighbors I knew and I could hear them on the other side. But no matter I would get these spooky feelings. One night when mom was returning late I was trying to get to sleep telling myself that I was just being silly to feel scared. I usually kept the hall light on because it shown some light into the bedroom. So I was lying there with my eyes closed and all around me everything was quiet and still. Suddenly two very loud accords sounded on my piano which was down the hall in the living room. I wasn’t asleep I was still wide awake and I heard bum, bum, on my piano. I don’t know who was trying to tell me what but I sat there after the two accords sounded with my heart pounding. That was it only two accords and for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what or who was trying to tell me something. So after that I sat up and watched TV until my mom came home. My piano is still with me today but I haven’t played it in a very long time. I am not a great player but I enjoy playing just for myself. The piano has been silent and has not uttered a sound but sometimes I get a feeling it is lonely if a piano can be lonely. One of these dark autumn nights I will sit down and try to play. They say that it is the same as with a bike once you learn you don’t forget. I’ll see how it goes and perhaps like I once did this year I can play some of my favorite Christmas songs. Who else plays the piano?

Maybe the piano is telling you to play it , that's why that night you heard that sound . I had piano lessons when i was in high school out of obedience to my father . But then , it's not my interest , so i don't learn at all .

I used to. I don't have one now. It never played itself though.

i had a piano for a lot of years of my childhood.....i have all lovely memories with it. Then when we stopped playing it...we sold it...so someone else who enjoys it can keep the tunes going. Have you ever thought of selling it?

Never thought about that because I am so fond of my piano so I guess I will try playing it again and see how that works our @ms1854 but thanks for suggesting this because I hadn't thought about it so it is a possibility.
