In the Philippines, most people hand wash, it's not very common there that we use washing machine, its just that we prefer to handwash because we think it's best and for the fact that electricity is expensive there. Being here in Canada already, I don't handwash anymore, thanks GOD! I use washing machine.

washing machine - washing machine
Are there people in modern society that still hand wash? I take care of everything myself with the aid of a washing machine!

i handwashed for awhile when i was pregnant with my first child and trying to be all "perfect housewife", i did find that things got cleaner and more stains got out of clothes because you could really focus on the particular spot whereas a washing machine is obviously indiscrimate as to any particular spot on a piece of clothing. but after my daughter there was just too much laundry for me to keep up with (my husband is a chef and he definetly misses me doing his chef whites by hand as they got a lot cleaner but oh well now with two there is no way id go back if i had the choice) it does show you why there used to be less incidence of obesity though when there was more manual labor involved in daily life, trying to get all the extra water out of a load of towels will give you some nice pipes in no time:) +

I definitely prefer washing machine over the other two. Much less work to do and is quicker. You are right about electricity being expensive here but doing the wash isn't too bad, especially for me since I am single. :-)

Wow! I can't imagine hand washing towells and bedding, and all of our work clothes! How spoiled we are! LOL! Have to have that washing machine and dryer! I know when it needs repair and we have to go to the laundromat we think we are being so mistreated! LOL

Hand washing clothing would be more gentle on the clothing, but harsher on the human.

It's hard to wash clothes manually because of the busy schedule that I have, added to it is taking care of my child. So, what we do is just bring all the clothest to a laundry service and have it washed, dried and folded.

hmmm...you can probably save that way too:)+ because soap is getting expensive too, plus electricity and water:)+
