Lonesome penny in the street, No one wants her. She waits to be picked up. No one appreciates her. Cars go passing by. She becomes muddy and grimy/ Poor Little Penny, Unappreciated on the road. A curious girl is crossing the street. The light is green. She spots the penny. "Mommy, can I pick it up?" "No dear," says her mommy. "It is filthy and only a penny." "Please," begs her daughter. "Okay," says her mommy. "But you must clean her When you get home." Little Penny is lifted off the street. Jennifer takes Liittle Penny home. She cleans off the mud and grime. She shines Little Penny. Little Penny is so happy. She has found herself a home. But, uh, Jennifer puts Little Penny In her purse. "Now I have a perfect 5," Says Jennifer. "I can't wait to spend my money." So much for Little Penny's happiness. Soon to be used over and over again.
