With this, not one, but two Favorite "Girl" Songs series wrap up (@FourWalls finished hers last night.) My #1 hails from London: Bat for Lashes and her song "What's a Girl to Do?" Multi-instrumentalist Natasha Khan is Bat for Lashes, who began recording in 2006 (she's survived a decade in the music business! Yay!) She has toured with the likes of Radiohead and Coldplay, is a filmmaker, and has designed a line of sportswear. Her critically acclaimed 2006 debut Fur and Gold, spawned "What's a Girl to Do?" It's my favorite "Girl" song, a pop song rooted in harpsichord (or, some other "chord." Khan plays a lot of them.) I wanted to link to the official video, which featured Khan riding a bike while singing, as BMX riders perform synchronized tricks behind her. Very cool. So cool that they've pulled it from You Tube. Enjoy the lyrics instead:

I've actually heard this one before, but didn't know who was performing it. Mystery solved!
