Even though tonight the moon is not a blue moon I was reminded of the song titled “Blue Moon” when I saw the bright full moon in the sky. As you see in the photo it is a full and lovely bright moon. This song dates back to 1934 and was written by Richard Rogers and Lorenz Hart. I became a popular song and has been recorded by many different artists. In 1961 it became a number one hit for the doo-wop group The Marcels. Other artists who have sung this song include Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Elvis Presley and Rod Stewart. The song was included in one of my favorite horror movies “An American Werewolf in London”. I have included one of my favorite versions here – “Blue Moon” by The Marcels. https://youtu.be/BziGPUGjhIE Have you ever heard this song before or seen that horror movie? If not this horror movie is great to watch on Halloween.

Blue Moon is a standard and the Marcel's version is the one running through the mind.

I know we had a full moon last night--but it wasn't blue. I believe that was one of my mother's favorite songs.
